“Neuromatch Academy will be an open, online, 3-week intensive tutorial-based computational neuroscience training program (July 5-23, 2021). Participants with broad background from undergraduates to professors as well as those in industry are welcome. Based on last year, we expect 1500+ participants. The Neuromatch Academy Computational Neuroscience course will introduce traditional and emerging computational neuroscience tools, their complementarity, and what they can tell us about the brain. A main focus is not just on using the techniques, but on modeling choices, model creation, model evaluation and understanding how such models relate to biological questions. The school will be Python-based, making use of Google Colab for most students (with alternative mechanisms for participants who cannot access Colab). The Academy will also include professional development / meta-science, and networking sessions. The goal is to give participants the computational background needed to do research in computational neuroscience.”
